5 Components Of A High Ticket Offer

00:00:00
Don't stop posting about your business.

00:00:04
Hi, I'm Katie McManus, business strategist and money mindset

00:00:07
coach.

00:00:07
And welcome to the Weenie Cast.

00:00:09
My apologies.

00:00:10
I won't sing again, I promise.

00:00:11
But seriously, I know we're heading into the December month,

00:00:15
which tends to be chockbox full of holidays and lots of other

00:00:20
things that people do, and it's very tempting to believe the

00:00:24
myth of this seasonal slowdown.

00:00:26
It's very tempting to think, okay, well, everyone else is taking

00:00:29
a break.

00:00:30
I should probably hit pause too.

00:00:33
And logically, yeah, that makes sense, right?

00:00:36
Because people are at holiday parties, they're out buying gifts

00:00:40
for their loved ones.

00:00:41
And especially this year, maybe buying gifts from people that

00:00:44
they don't really want to buy presents for, that's a different

00:00:46
story.

00:00:47
They're trying to wrap up a bunch of stuff for year end.

00:00:50
There's a lot going on and you've probably already noticed a

00:00:55
little dip, if not a massive dip in your engagement on your social

00:00:59
media posts for your business.

00:01:01
So logically, yeah, sure.

00:01:03
I mean, you can absolutely build the case for no one's paying

00:01:06
attention right now.

00:01:07
No one's buying right now.

00:01:09
You should just, like, shut up shop and restart everything in January,

00:01:12
right?

00:01:13
I think you know where I'm going with this.

00:01:16
That's a big fat no.

00:01:17
Absolutely not.

00:01:21
And I want to be perfectly clear.

00:01:23
I'm not telling you that in the month of December, when you want

00:01:26
to be spending quality time with family, celebrating the holidays

00:01:30
that you celebrate, that you should be off doing work in your

00:01:34
business, grinding away, doing a gazillion hours a week.

00:01:37
Absolutely not.

00:01:38
But what I am saying is that you cannot stop being visible right

00:01:43
now.

00:01:44
I know it feels like no one's paying attention.

00:01:46
We're gonna debunk that.

00:01:48
But actually, this is one of the best times for you to promote

00:01:52
your business, for you to continue banging the drum about who

00:01:55
you help, the problems they have that make them the perfect client

00:01:59
for you and the outcomes that you'll help them reach.

00:02:02
So let's talk through why it actually doesn't make sense for you

00:02:07
to stop posting throughout the holiday months.

00:02:11
Now, first and foremost, sure, you might not get a ton of new followers

00:02:16
right now.

00:02:16
And that's actually normal.

00:02:18
People are busy, they're shopping, they're cooking, they're

00:02:22
going to holiday parties, they're spending time with family.

00:02:25
They're probably not doom scrolling as much as they normally

00:02:28
do.

00:02:29
Which means that the strangers out there who haven't discovered

00:02:32
you yet probably aren't going to discover you right now.

00:02:36
But what it does mean is that the people who are already following

00:02:39
you, who already go to look at your content, who are already used

00:02:45
to your name showing up in their newsfeed, you're likely to

00:02:49
show up far more often for them.

00:02:51
Right?

00:02:51
Because I want you to think about this.

00:02:53
The algorithms are smart.

00:02:55
Even LinkedIn algorithm, which is janky as fuck, it's pretty smart.

00:02:59
Its goal is to keep its followers on their site for as long

00:03:04
as possible.

00:03:06
Will the algorithm want to run the risk of showing its user new

00:03:11
content that may be hit or miss?

00:03:13
Probably not.

00:03:15
But if that follower has a track record of liking commenting

00:03:20
on your posts, or at least sitting down and reading and having

00:03:23
that pause time on your post, you're a known quantity.

00:03:27
Your content is far more likely to be shown to your followers

00:03:32
right now.

00:03:33
And believe you me, your followers are still on social media.

00:03:37
They are still doom scrolling on Instagram, they're still on LinkedIn

00:03:41
reading all the posts.

00:03:43
They might not be commenting as much, but they're there.

00:03:47
So right now is the perfect time for you to start creating urgency

00:03:52
for your followers to take the next step in this relationship with

00:03:55
you, or at least start planting the seeds for them to take

00:03:59
that step in January.

00:04:00
And we'll talk about that more in a second.

00:04:02
But first, I want to talk about something that you and I both

00:04:06
know is happening for the people who are paying attention to

00:04:09
you who haven't bought yet, they're spending time with family.

00:04:15
Okay, I don't know about your family, but I think most families

00:04:21
have some people in them that you need excuses to get away from.

00:04:26
There are moments in most family gatherings where someone's

00:04:29
hiding in the bathroom.

00:04:31
What are you doing in the bathroom?

00:04:32
You're not going through the medicine cabinet for that long.

00:04:34
I don't care how nosy you are, you cannot stretch going through

00:04:39
someone's medicine cabinet for that long.

00:04:41
You probably need something to read.

00:04:43
You probably need to like, sit on the edge of the tub and scroll

00:04:46
on Instagram for a little bit or on TikTok.

00:04:49
If you're bold, you might be doing this out in the open, just

00:04:53
fully ignoring some people.

00:04:55
So your people are still consuming social media content.

00:05:00
They're doing it on the DL.

00:05:01
They're doing it to avoid conversations.

00:05:03
But not just that.

00:05:05
They're consuming social media content around people that they've

00:05:10
known their entire lives, people who know them and trust them,

00:05:14
who might be your ideal client, even if the person who follows

00:05:19
you isn't.

00:05:21
Can you imagine posting something about your ideal client?

00:05:25
Someone who feels like they're your friend on social media, sees

00:05:28
it while they're at the Christmas celebrations with their

00:05:31
family and then turns to their cousin Doreen and is like, doreen,

00:05:34
I think you need to see this.

00:05:36
This is someone that I've been following for a really long time.

00:05:38
You should follow them and check them out.

00:05:40
This is prime referral time.

00:05:43
But your followers can't refer people to you in that moment if they

00:05:47
don't remember that you exist.

00:05:49
They don't remember who you're useful to and the problems that you

00:05:52
solve and the goals you help people reach.

00:05:54
So your content right now has to bang on about that over and over

00:05:59
and over and over again because especially this year, people

00:06:02
are looking for things to talk about that are unproblematic.

00:06:07
And talking about someone that you follow on LinkedIn is pretty

00:06:10
unproblematic.

00:06:12
So to summarize what we've already covered, your followers are

00:06:16
far more likely to see your stuff, which means that the people

00:06:18
who've already built up a level of trust and relationship with

00:06:22
you blindly through social media, they're seeing your stuff

00:06:25
far more often.

00:06:26
They're also spending time with people who know and trust them,

00:06:32
which means even if they're not your ideal client, they could

00:06:35
potentially be referring your ideal clients to you because they're

00:06:39
coming into contact with them within their family systems.

00:07:33
We also have looming start energy coming.

00:07:36
Start energy happens whenever there's a shift that we've been trained

00:07:40
on, right?

00:07:41
So like in the Northern Hemisphere, start energy happens

00:07:44
around August, September.

00:07:45
Right.

00:07:45
Why?

00:07:46
Because we were all raised to start school then.

00:07:49
It's something that we were programmed to feel like.

00:07:52
There's start energy there.

00:07:55
You know, there's also start energy around the spring.

00:07:58
You know, spring clean, get into shape.

00:08:01
You know, we're coming out from hibernation, the sun's coming

00:08:05
out.

00:08:06
When else do we have start energy?

00:08:08
The start of the year, January 1st.

00:08:12
I know it's just an arbitrary date and it really doesn't mean much,

00:08:16
but we're so programmed to want to start start new things and

00:08:19
start imagining who we're going to be in this next tour around

00:08:23
the sun.

00:08:24
And I don't know about you, but most people I talk to, when they

00:08:28
think about who they're going to be next year, they don't think

00:08:31
about, like, the worst version of themselves.

00:08:34
They're not like, yeah, I can't wait to still stay out of shape.

00:08:39
Yeah, I can't wait to still be underpaid and underappreciated in

00:08:43
my job.

00:08:44
I'M going to get a worse job.

00:08:45
Even I'm going to get a job with less vacation time.

00:08:48
They're not like running their teams and thinking, cool, we're going

00:08:52
to make people more miserable, we're going to sell less product,

00:08:56
we're going to implement worse technology that makes things less

00:09:00
productive.

00:09:01
They're not thinking about that.

00:09:02
They're thinking about how they can make things better for themselves,

00:09:06
for their teams, for their bodies, for their work.

00:09:09
And not only that, they're thinking about how they're going

00:09:12
to do this.

00:09:14
And they're not just thinking about what they want, they're thinking

00:09:17
about how the they're going to get it.

00:09:20
I've shared this before a gazillion times, and I'll share it

00:09:23
again.

00:09:23
When I hired my producer for this podcast, Neil Velio, I actually

00:09:28
hired him in my head a full year before I ever spoke to him.

00:09:32
I'd seen him showing up in my newsfeed for, I think, well over

00:09:35
a year at that point, and he'd slowly been building himself up as

00:09:41
the go to expert in my mind.

00:09:43
He shared harsh truths that made me trust him.

00:09:47
So I decided to hire Neil a full year before I ever got on the

00:09:51
phone with him.

00:09:51
By the time I got on a sales call with him, I had to finish the

00:09:55
call by saying, shut up and take my money.

00:09:57
He didn't realize that I'd already made this decision.

00:09:59
All he had to do on that call was just not f ed up.

00:10:02
He did a great job not f up.

00:10:04
And here we are, more than two years later, still going strong.

00:10:08
I'll bet you anything if you've been consistent in your social

00:10:11
media content and people have gotten to know you, they've learned

00:10:16
how you're useful to them.

00:10:18
They've probably already started kind of daydreaming about

00:10:20
what it would be like to work with you.

00:10:23
And here they are, primed for that moment where they realize, like,

00:10:28
the rubber needs to hit the road.

00:10:30
They need to actually get to work on this and make some progress.

00:10:36
If you disappear, if you don't post, if you don't continue to share

00:10:40
about how you can be useful to them, they're going to end up hiring

00:10:43
someone else.

00:10:44
They might hire someone who they don't trust as much as you.

00:10:48
They might hire someone who's less qualified than you, who doesn't

00:10:52
have as good of a track record of helping people.

00:10:55
You staying quiet and invisible and not posting right now

00:11:00
is doing your future clients a massive disservice.

00:11:04
Because, let's be real, they're probably gonna end up working

00:11:05
with you at some point regardless.

00:11:09
But are they gonna waste money on someone who's not as good as you

00:11:12
first?

00:11:13
Yeah, if you're quiet right now.

00:11:16
So you need to continue posting.

00:11:19
You need to continue posting because people are hungry for their

00:11:21
future selves and they want to get to that point as fast as possible.

00:11:27
And right now is the time where they decide how they're going

00:11:30
to do it.

00:11:31
And one of the leading options for how they're going to do it should

00:11:34
be working with you.

00:11:36
It should be their top choice.

00:11:57
And lastly, let's talk about December and buying habits.

00:12:02
I don't know about you.

00:12:03
When I go gift shopping for other people, I see something for

00:12:06
someone else and then I see something for me, and then I see

00:12:09
something for someone else and then I'm like, oh, and here's something

00:12:12
that I want too.

00:12:13
Hmm.

00:12:14
And it becomes like that scene in hold that Ghost by Bud Abbott

00:12:17
and Lou Costello, which, if you haven't seen it's an excellent

00:12:20
black and white film where at the end they're counting out money

00:12:23
and it's like, one for you, one for me, two for you, one, two

00:12:27
for me, three for you, one, two, three for me.

00:12:30
People are not complicated beings, right?

00:12:33
How we do one thing is how we do everything.

00:12:35
When we're in buying mode for other people, we're also in buying

00:12:38
mode for ourselves.

00:12:40
But here's the thing to remember.

00:12:42
Like the things that you can go out and buy to shop, like, you

00:12:46
can put that on your Christmas list and you can ask other people

00:12:48
to get it for you.

00:12:49
Working with you, hiring you to help them with whatever transformation

00:12:53
they want to tackle in 2025 or in whatever year.

00:12:57
You're listening to this episode.

00:12:59
Another person cannot buy this transformation for them.

00:13:02
Another person won't know that you're the person that they trust

00:13:05
to help usher them to that goal.

00:13:08
Hiring you is something that only they can do.

00:13:11
When I first started my business, I assumed December would

00:13:14
be my slowest month.

00:13:15
I just figured, eh, I won't even waste my time, no big deal.

00:13:19
Like it'll be busy in January.

00:13:21
Actually, December historically has always been my record

00:13:24
breaking month.

00:13:25
Every year I make more money in December than I do any other month

00:13:29
of the year.

00:13:30
And it's because people want to start at an advantage.

00:13:35
There's nothing clean about like starting January 1st and be

00:13:38
like, cool, what's the goal I want to have this year?

00:13:41
How am I going to do it?

00:13:42
Then you spend a couple days trying to figure out the goal and

00:13:45
Then you spend a couple days, like figuring how you're going to

00:13:47
do it, but then it's like January 8th.

00:13:50
And there's nothing magical about January 8th, it's just January

00:13:54
8th.

00:13:54
You've already lost a week and a day.

00:13:57
Like, there's no magic start energy to that.

00:13:59
But if on December 27th you decide, this is the moment when I

00:14:03
want to hire this person because I want to be able to start

00:14:07
working on this goal January 1st and really keep my promise to

00:14:11
myself and hold myself accountable and work towards this

00:14:15
massive goal I have for this year.

00:14:17
Like, how are they going to do that if you disappear on them?

00:14:20
How are they going to give you their money in December?

00:14:23
And let's not forget there are businesses out there who have budget

00:14:27
that they need to spend in the calendar year of 2024 or they lose

00:14:31
it.

00:14:32
You disappearing doesn't do them a service.

00:14:35
There are people who need to invest in their business or in themselves

00:14:40
in 2024 for tax reasons so they can write it off.

00:14:45
You disappearing doesn't do them any good.

00:14:51
So here's my challenge for you.

00:14:53
Ignore impressions, ignore views.

00:14:56
Ignore how many comments you're getting.

00:14:58
Ignore how many likes you're getting.

00:15:00
Go and create nine pieces of content that you're going to schedule

00:15:04
in advance so you can take some time off for the holidays that

00:15:07
you celebrate, but still stay visible to the people who need to

00:15:13
see that you can help them.

00:15:15
And for simplicity's sake, these nine posts, three of them should

00:15:19
be about the pain that they're facing right now with the problems

00:15:21
they have that you can solve.

00:15:24
What's stressing them out about these problems?

00:15:26
What are they afraid of these problems turning into in the future?

00:15:30
What are they frustrated with?

00:15:32
3 of these posts should be about their desire.

00:15:35
What is that thing that they want more than anything?

00:15:37
What's the big juicy goal here?

00:15:39
And what will it feel like when they finally have it?

00:15:43
And lastly, three of them should be testimonials or case studies

00:15:46
about how you've helped people just like them, yourself included.

00:15:51
Go from point A with all those problems to point W, where they have

00:15:57
all the wins, where they've reached the goal, where they have

00:16:01
access to that future self they've imagined for so long.

00:16:04
And the key here is, at the end of each post, you have to have

00:16:07
a call to action.

00:16:08
You have to invite them to buy, you have to invite them to book

00:16:11
a sales call.

00:16:13
And if you're planning on taking, say, December 23rd through

00:16:18
December 31st off, and you're not going to be available.

00:16:22
And remember, you want to have a really strong call to action that

00:16:25
reminds them that the time to start is now.

00:16:29
The time to set themselves up with a plan to actually achieve the

00:16:34

00:16:41
He myth busted in a way that I was like, yeah, this guy, like, he's

00:16:45
not gonna blow smoke up my butt, which is such a weird saying.

00:16:49
Was that actually a thing that people did to, like, try to convince

00:16:53
people of falsehoods?

00:16:55
Doesn't that strike you as very Gwyneth Paltrow?

00:16:58
Like, who was the Gwyneth Paltrow of what, the 18th century

00:17:01
that was blowing smoke up people's butts?

00:17:04
And how did we go from that to steaming vaginas?

00:17:08
